Key Stage 1 Curriculum
At Marlborough Infants School we aim to create a warm, happy, purposeful environment where each child will be stimulated to acquire knowledge, skills and practical abilities through motivating cross-curricular topics. Children will be taught as a class, in small groups and individually as appropriate. A high priority is given to support children to become literate and numerate. The learning programmes are carefully planned as a whole school to ensure continuity and progression within a broad and balanced curriculum.
We plan activities for the children in the following areas:
- Art and Design
- Design and Technology
- Physical Education
- Religious Education
- Personal, Social and Health Education
We enhance the curriculum through inviting visitors to school and undertaking educational visits (please see the class pages for further details). We also use the Eco Park and Small Heath Allotments along with our own playground to complete a range of practical sessions for a range of curriculum areas including outdoor PE, science and gardening.
All children are encouraged to work at a level which is challenging and will enable them to reach their full potential.
